Eyebrow loss, skin diseases such as hair loss, permanent make-up, chemotherapy treatment, etc. seen in people living with the condition. It is also possible for the eyebrows to come back into place after falling out. If there is a permanent hair loss and eyebrow transplant operation can be performed again.
Operation Process
Techniques Used
Eyebrow transplant operation is the transfer of hair follicles that can be taken from all donor areas, primarily the back of the head, to the area without eyebrows after shedding.
DHI method in eyebrow transplantation
Among the hair root transplants, the application that requires the most care and attention is eyebrow transplantation. It is important to achieve a natural appearance in eyebrow transplant operations. For this, the angle and direction of the transplanted grafts should be natural and the eyebrow line should be carefully designed.
It is more appropriate to use the DHI method when performing eyebrow transplantation, since opening the canal and performing the transplantation process may damage the existing hair follicles, as in the FUE method.
Stages of Eyebrow Transplantation Operation
In eyebrow transplantation, the priority is generally aesthetic concerns. Therefore, the perspective of the person who will have the operation should be taken into account, especially in the planning of the operation.
Four Basic Stages of Eyebrow Transplantation
Consultation and Planning
Collection of Hair Roots
Transplanting with Choi implanter
Post-operative dressing
Let us briefly explain these stages.
Consultation: The area to be transplanted and the eyebrow design are decided during the examination phase. At this stage, a planning is made according to the doctor’s facial features and according to the person’s request.
Operation stages
Collection of hair follicles: In this method, it is preferred to collect hair follicles in an unshaven way, which is generally applied to people with long hair. The small amount of graft needed makes this procedure easy. In the unshaven hair follicle collection process, it is usually done with the hair follicles collected from the nape area and a very small area that the hair can cover by shaving.
Local anaesthesia is applied to the area opened for hair collection. When collecting roots, only single hair follicles should be collected. The aesthetic stance in the eyebrow area will provide these single hair follicles.
Local anaesthesia is also applied in eyebrow transplant operations performed with the DHI technique. Hair follicles are transplanted with Choi implanter pens at appropriate angles and directions. In the eyebrow transplantation process, the angle of the hair follicles should be made with less angles compared to the normal hair transplantation process. This is an important step for the desired aesthetic appearance.
Post-Operation
A dressing should be applied on the day after the operation to ensure that the transplanted hair follicles cannot adhere to the healthy skin and to prevent other medical complications.
Since a small number of hair follicles such as 200-300 grafts are used in eyebrow transplant operations, the operation takes approximately 2-3 hours.
Eyebrow Transplantation Operations Can Be Applied
Eyebrow transplant operation can be applied to people who have lost a part or all of their eyebrows.
Observing the Results After Eyebrow Transplantation
The growth of the transplanted eyebrows occurs as in the hair transplant process. Shock shedding is seen within 15 days after sowing. In the next 3 months, the person will have a satisfactory eyebrow appearance. In 8-12 months, the eyebrows will take their final shape.
